Opener Jason Roy crushed a brisk flame 78 as England beat New Zealand by seven wickets on Wednesday to achieve the last of the World Twenty20.

Roy clobbered 11 fours and two sixes off 44 balls amid his lady T20 half-century, as England scored 159-3 in 17.1 overs after Ben Stokes (3-26) limited New Zealand to 153-8.

Roy included 82 for the primary wicket with Alex Hales (20) to everything except remove the competition’s first elimination round from New Zealand.

Prior, New Zealand lost the activity as seven wickets succumbed to 62 taking after a 74-run second-wicket association between Colin Munro (46) and chief Kane Williamson (32).

Britain, champion in 2010, will confront the victor of the other elimination round in the middle of India and the West Indies in Mumbai on Thursday.
