While numerous monkey species are not in risk, there are some that are near elimination. For instance there are just 150 Tonkin Snub-Nosed monkeys in presence. Another monkey on the rundown is the Tana River Red Colobus. There are less than 1,000 of these monkeys left on the planet. Both are recorded on the 25 Most Endangered Primates list distributed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature Species Survival Commission Primate Specialist Group.
The Hainan Black-Crested Gibbon is viewed as a standout amongst the most fundamentally imperiled species. There are just 20 of these monkeys left on the planet.
